My brother in law has always been an electric shaver fan, and he finally got me to buy the ES8243A. Surprisingly, he suggested I look at the ES8243A, and the ES8109S models, and he doesn't own either one!

He has some outdated Remington model, but is now shopping for a wet/dry type. With a wet/dry, you can use the shaver in the shower, with shaving cream, and while you are on the run. Both he and I are not crazy about dry shaving, so that was another vote for a wet/dry option.

Before I bought the ES8243A, the last time I used an electric shaver was in college, almost 20 years ago. It was convenient, because I seemingly was always on the run.

However, my girlfriend at the time complained about my stubble, and that was AFTER I had shaved! Also, I had a bad problem with irritation on my neck, which got old in a hurry. And finally, I would use after shave lotion and it would attract Bees!

YIKES!

Nothing breaks a romantic mood like too much razor stubble, and being chased by bees! So, I took heed of my raging hormones, and got rid of my clunky Sunbeam electric shaver.

Now I've entered the 21st century of shaving with the ES8243Awet/dry shaver!

ES8243A- What The Heck Is 4 Blade Technology?

Panasonic has introduced what they call "four blade" technology. It is billed as the smoothest and fastest shave on the planet!I must say, that after shaving with the Panasonic ES8243A, it definitely lives up to the hype!The "four blades" actually refers to the outer foil, and it also has two inner blades. The four blade technology is an upgrade to the tri-blade design, common to higher end panasonic models such as the ES8109S.

Apparently the foil is now composed of a thinner steel, giving the inner blades flush contact with the skin. The bottom line is that it is hard too tell you are even shaving! It is THAT smooth!

Another factor that adds to the closeness of the shave is the so called "Nano Technology." This micro technology polishes the blades of the ES8243A which have been set at a perfect 30 degree angle.

Finally, the motor of the Panasonic ES8243A shaver rotate at an amazing 13000 r.p.m.!Other shavers are lucky if they hit 10,000 rp.m. This speed allows the blades to breeze through even the toughest of beards!
